Fans will once again get to see their favorite "Indian Summers" Season 2 as it is set to continue on PBS. The story of love, death and dreams set in the 1930s of the British India's summer capital will be watched again on small screens.

The Return Of 'Indian Summers' Season 2

According to Broadway World, San Francisco Chronicle once described "Indian Summers" as "a terrific melodrama with brains." Unfortunately, Channel 4 had to cancel the show, but successfully picked up by PBS for a Season 2. "Indian Summers" Season 2 will star Julie Walters as Cynthia, Henry Lloyd-Hughes as Ralph Whelan, Nikesh Patel as Aafrin Dalal and Jemima West as Alice Whelan.

New stars are also coming in "Indian Summers" Season 2, like Art Malik as Maharajah, Rachel Griffiths as Sirene, Blake Ritson as Charlie Havistock and James Fleet as Lord Hawthorne. It is still produced by Channel 4 and MASTERPIECE in collaboration with all3meda International. Created and written by Paul Rutman. and executive produced by Charles Pattinson, Elaine Pyke, Willow Grylls, Simon Curtis, Paul Rutman and Rebecca Eaton.

'Indian Summers' Canceled On Channel 4 Because Of Changing Schedules?

Meanwhile, "Indian Summers" is described as the most expensive TV series ever made by Channel 4. In fact, it became its biggest hit in the 20 years of the channel's history. However, the network still decided to cancel the show after releasing two seasons. "Indian Summers" first had 3 million viewers on its initial launched with 5 million overall watchers.

But in "Indian Summers" Season 2, it drastically went down to just 1 million viewers. The Guardian reported that it might be because of the Channel 4's changing schedule. The show was first put against BBC1's "The Casual Vacancy" and later with "The Night Manager." Although it got a little unsuccessful with its first network, "Indian Summers" Season 2 now succeed with 10 episodes on PBS starting on September 11.
