'Pokemon Go' Latest News & Update: Niantic Needs To Add The Poke Finder

The player base of "Pokemon Go" is steadily falling since the game's release thanks to what is essentially a broken and less-interesting Pokemon game, but developer Niantic could still borrow a thing or two (okay, a lot of things) from the main games. Other than actual proper Pokemon battles between other players and trading (which is set to come soon, according to them) they should adapt the Poke Finder to "Pokemon Go."

What is the Poke Finder, you ask? It's a new feature revealed in "Pokemon Sun & Moon" that is pretty much an updated version of the old "Pokemon Snap" game for Nintendo 64. The Poke Finder is a camera-like device that takes photos of Pokemon, which you then have appraised by the Rotom Pokedex (a Pokedex which is basically another Rotom form) and/or by other players around the world. Sort of like an Instagram for Pokemon, and it makes a lot more sense if it were included in "Pokemon Go."

While players can actually take photos inside "Pokemon Go" while using the AR function, it's pretty much just an easier way to take screenshots of the game. "Pokemon Snap" (and the corresponding Camera mode in "Pokemon Stadium" allowed you to exercise your actual photography skills in taking photos of Pokemon; MyInforms suggests that it can be set up in "Pokemon Go" by awarding the player with extra Stardust or Candy for really good pictures.

"Pokemon Go" is bracing for an update real soon that may or may not include new features, including trading, a Pokemon Buddy system (that mirrors being able to have one of your Pokemon follow you around, like in "Pokemon Yellow" and "Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver"), and the much-awaited second batch of new Pokemon. There's no word yet on when Niantic is going to roll this out, however, but we'll let you know as soon as we get more information.
