WWE Raw is shrouded with a lot of dark clouds right now following the surprise intrusion of Triple H during the Aug. 29 episode. For the benefit of those who missed it, Triple H personally orchestrated who would be the next Universal champion, taking out Roman Reigns and then Seth Rollins to technically hand Kevin Owens the title.
The development came as a surprise to everyone, including Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon and general manager Mick Foley. Both were surprised though not many are buying Stephanie’s alleged innocence.
Is Stephanie in cahoots with her husband?
The obvious agenda for the Sept. 5 edition was to explain what went down last week. Foley went up to Stephanie and asked her why the Raw commissioner was not responding to his emails, something that somehow made him think that there was something going on.
Stephanie would, later on, use being ‘embarrassed’ as her front and that she was dealing with the actions of her husband. From there, it was an Oscar performance for Stephanie trying to convince Foley (and the fans) that she is innocent of all wrongdoing.
It may be too early to see what the WWE has planned in this twist though it still doesn’t erase the fact that Stephanie is involved (a bit) on what went down. It all boils down to the storylines, all the more fired up with the Triple H’s absence on Raw.
Backing Rollins into a corner
Stephanie alleges she was backing Seth Rollins though it seems more like a trap moving forward. She could stand up and root for “The Architect” but how many times have we seen backstabbing in the WWE?
It could pass for now but somewhere along the line, Stephanie is almost certain of aligning with Triple H with the real reason revealed. Could it be another power struggle which would place Stephanie (and Triple H’s control) on the line against Seth Rollins? It has happened before so it can surely happen again.
