A new PlayStation 4 is set to be released on Sept. 8, according to Sony Interactive Entertainment Korea. This is just a day after the PlayStation Meeting to be held on Wednesday 12 pm PT/3pm ET in New York.
PlayStation Lifestyle reported that whatever product it is to be launched is a "future of the game." Gamers will also know the innovations that Sony "has prepared for the coming months," which is said to be the new PlayStation 4.
Some sites believed that PlayStation Korea will announce the release date and the price of the new PlayStation 4 on Thursday. Some speculate that fans will finally get updates on the slimmer model console or even the upgraded Neo. Whichever of the two will be announced, fans will certainly be excited.
Let's Play Video Games unboxed the so-called PlayStation 4 Slim. In the video, we can see that the box is not labeled as PS4 slim. Does this mean that the slimmer hardware is just replacing the existing console? The DualShock 4 controller, however, has already a front-facing lightbar and touchpad. USB ports for the controller are already separated, and even so with the new power and eject buttons.
Gumtree, a British website, has reportedly sold PlayStation 4 Slim last month, making the fans conclude that the announcement on Wed will just be confirmatory of the console's presence in the market. The same unit allegedly even appeared on eBay and CEX just days after it appeared on the former website.
PlayStation 4 Neo gives more visual interests to the players. It is a higher version of the current console, but all PlayStation 4 games can be played across PS4 and PS4 Neo.
Launched last Nov 2013, 40 million PlayStation 4 has already been shipped across the globe. It has already overtaken its Microsoft rival, Xbox One according to PlayStation Universe. Stay tuned to GameNGuide for more updates on the latest news on PlayStation 4.
