"Final Fantasy XV" has been scheduled for release on Sept. 30 but Square Enix recently announced that it was moved to Nov. 29. The team behind the game made the difficult decision of postponing the launch because they think it was a necessary move on their part.
According to director Hajime Tabata, the "Final Fantasy XV" is not yet fully ready as it still needs performance optimization. He added that there are also glitches to fix like the frame rate which is, apparently, not holding to its targeted 30 fps. Plus, there are characters that suddenly float in the air, thus they are pushing back the game's release to November.
"From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series," Tabata said via video message. "Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this."
The director of "Final Fantasy XV" also apologized and asked fans for understanding as they only want to give the perfect game that everyone deserves. VG247 was able to talk with Tabata for an interview and the director further explained things that led to the cancellation of September release.
Tabata shared that he made the decision himself because he is still not satisfied with the game, and thought that fans will feel the same. And yes, Square Enix can simply issue patches to put right the issues but Tabata said that not all players have easy access to internet so they are not likely to get the updates to enjoy the game more.
To conclude, Tabata simply wants "Final Fantasy XV" to work perfectly as soon as it is taken out of the box. With that said, his decision to launch the game at a later date was praised by fans even though they were disappointed at first. They just realized that it was for the good after all.
