CM Punk Latest News & Update: Former WWE Star Keeping Chin Up From Adversity

CM Punk is finally making his UFC debut in the Octagon when UFC 203 takes place on Sept. 10, an event which doesn’t necessarily seem him have good odds. Most have taken a swipe at Punk, mostly due to his age and lack of MMA experience. His debut has been pushed back several times already with the former wrestling star suffering different kinds of injuries.

With all that in consideration plus the fact that he is facing a rising star in Mickey Gall, it doesn’t come as a surprise why he is a 3-1 underdog. But does that bother the former WWE champion? Not at all.

Ready for anything

There is no question that many see Punk’s UFC jump more as a publicity stunt. But for Punk, it is about pushing himself to the limit and technically living out a dream. He admits conversing with another WWE star, Brock Lesnar, about his move. Based on his feedback, it seems more about lifting up his spirits.

Punk is aware of the negativity surrounding his UFC 203 fight but has not let it douse his spirits. He keeps an open mind and gives people the benefit of the doubt.

WWE lawsuit awareness

During his interview with Inside MMA Ron Kruck, he was asked an odd question regarding WWE CEO Vince McMahon. Punk responded by saying that both were not in communication and added that his former employer is bankrolling a $1 million lawsuit against him, The Wrestling Observer reported.

With that said, it seems pretty far off that Punk may ever consider a return to the WWE. It may be possible but that may take a lot of years to let wounds heal.

For now, it is all about showing the world what he can do in the Octagon. Punk makes his debut in the UFC on Sept. 10 in Cleveland.
