Bethesda is not likely to come out with a much-awaited “Elder Scrolls VI”, hence the reason why most are being encouraged to check out the coming “Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” remastered version. Though the changes will be minimal, it is the best gamers can hope for with “Elder Scrolls VI” unlikely to arrive earlier than 2019. Getting word that the sixth installment by that time is perhaps the only bright spot as Bethesda focuses on other games right now as mentioned in a previous post.
Aside from the “Elder Scrolls” series, Bethesda is also behind other big game titles like “Fallout 4” and “Doom”. Executive producer Todd Howard gave gamers a better view on where “Elder Scrolls VI” is at the moment, revealing that no one has been assigned to work on the sixth installment for now.
Ideas are already in place though a 2019 release could be up for major changes. Among them include the viability of making the game VR-ready.
Will VR still be a fad by 2019?
Virtual Reality integration is an obvious hit nowadays in the world of gaming though there is no telling how long the hype will last. Gaming Bolt did weigh in on the possibility and claimed that seeing a VR-ready “Elder Scrolls VI”” by 2019 may not be as popular compared to today.
A lot of that will depend on how successful VR will be and for how long. Also, with 2019 about 2 to 3 years away, there could be major changes happening in the gaming technology sector.
With that said, “Elder Scrolls VI” will also depend on what is ‘in’ the gaming world in the coming years. Surely there will be new innovations happening which can hopefully be integrated in a yet-to-be-touched sixth installment.
For now, gamers will have to make do with the “Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” edition, something that will feature art and effects, volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field, and screen-space reflections. Stay tuned to Game & Guide for more "Elder Scrolls VI" news!
