Apple Mac Mini may be launched early next year during an Apple event in March 2017. Earlier reports suggested that the tech giant could be discontinuing the Mini-series altogether in favor of its more popular devices such as iPhone and MacBook Pro.
Thus, the upgraded Apple Mac Mini will not be available in October this year. It is believed that the device will sport a smaller design, Intel chipset, massive RAM and a high-performance graphics configuration.
One of the logical explanations for the delay in the Apple Mac Mini launch is the inclusion of Intel's Kaby Lake processor. These high-speed processors will be hitting shelves end of 2016. As it is rumored that the Mac Mini will feature the Kaby Lake processor, fans may not be able to get their hands on the device this year, reports Macworld.
If at all Apple chooses to include the Kaby Lake processor, it will provide a considerable boost to the upgraded Mac Mini's overall performance. However, in case there is a sudden turn of events and Apple decides to launch the product this year, it will most probably feature the Sky Lake chipset.
The Kaby Lake processor will also bring to the table 4K video support, DisplayPort 1.2, USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt 3. The upcoming Apple Mac Mini is expected to be thinner with a smaller chassis. In terms of design, it will undergo a major change and some rumors suggest that it will sport dimensions similar to Apple TV, writes Mobile & Apps.
The Apple Mac Mini is believed to be compatible with the Virtual Reality function and may feature AMD's Polaris 10 GPU for an incredibly amazing graphics experience. It could feature 500GB of internal storage and an 8GB RAM. It may also come with more flash drive options.
Apple has not confirmed anything officially but rumors have even given a price of $550+ to the Apple Mac Mini. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more Mac Mini news and updates!
