"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" Update 4.2 will launch soon, which will feature BattlEye, fixes for multiplayer issues on PlayStation 4 and more. Connection issues on all platforms are also being addressed in "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
Ubisoft posted a blog where the community manager admitted that a number of PC gamers experienced problems when they tried to run "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" using BattlEye. Some of the problems apparently stemmed from the video graphics cards.
Connection troubles in "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" on all platforms are reportedly being addressed at present. Players with internet providers that use an IPv6 protocol and having online issues are advised to enable the IPv4 protocol in their router settings.
The Ubisoft blog also noted that "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" Update 4.2 will also take on the multiplayer error on PlayStation 4. The error code allegedly caused by player accounts that are set to "Appear Offline." The new "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" update will also fix the poor laptop FPS. Ubisoft stated that they are aware how some players go through significantly decreased performance when trying to play the game on a laptop.
Ubisoft mentioned that "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" players can refer to the troubleshooting page, router's manual and ISP support website to address connectivity and laptop issues. "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" players complained about performance issues. Another glitch was a bug that causes the Gun Shield to disappear when pressed against a collision field.
The problem particularly affects the character Blackbeard, when he is in a surface with a collision field. More bugs and glitches will also be addressed by patch 4.2. These include an issue where the hostage fails to move after attackers take them and one where thermite charges do not explode the reinforced wall, among others.
Digital Trends wrote that BattlEye in "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" was launched July 2016 as a client-side anti-cheat mechanism. Thousands of "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" players who were found cheating were banned from the game. BattlEye is complements FairFight, which is a server-side system that identifies statistically anomalous actions during games.
