Ubisoft has confirmed it will be sending in a patch to fix the issues for PlayStation Vita's exclusive Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation.
"Our team is in the process of finalizing the first patch for Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation," the company told Joystiq. "This will address the save game corruption issue that you asked about [previously]. We'll have a better idea on the timing of the patch soon."
Earlier this month, Eurogamer reported about the issue, where players were "left trapped in an Animus loading screen when trying to boot the game, unable to re-enter the game world." The issue was experienced by many players, as is known from the Ubisoft support forums.
A bug had been affecting the saved files of Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation. Players had to make regular backups using Vita's content manager. Ubisoft has not specified the release date for the patch.
"I exited the game through the start menu to reload it and the game would no longer load and kept resetting back to the Ubisoft logo. I was at least 10 hours in with side missions and collections quite thoroughly completed. Other users are experiencing corrupt save problems as well and have to do restarts. Consumers deserve to be made aware of this game breaking bug until it is (hopefully) patched before they lose their progress/purchase this broken game. Other users experience a similar problem but instead of the game returning to title remain stuck in the animus loading screen. Please sticky this forum and give a response. I suffered this bug initially on Saturday and since then more buyers have had the issue," pleaded a user by the name of mattwillis30.
Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation was released along with Assassin's Creed 3 in late October this year.
