The Resistance Collection to be Released On Dec. 5

Sony announced that The Resistance Collection will be released on Dec. 5.

Resistance: Fall of Man was Sony's first-person shooter exclusively for PlayStation 3 that came out in 2006 followed by Resistance 2 in 2008 and Resistance 3 in 2011.

Resistance: Fall of Man came out as a title launch for PlayStation 3. The story follows Sergeant Nathan Hale as the character looks at the events of 1951 when Chimera, a mysterious alien race, attacks the UK. The game had multiplayer functionality, where eight players could play online.

The second in the series sees the return of Sergeant Nathan Hale who goes to the U.S. after being infected with the virus and battling Chimera. New weapons and competitive online modes were included. The game had a separate co-op mode campaign, with eight players taking on the role of "Spectre Team".

The third game has a new protagonist and new gameplay. It supports stereoscopic 3-D and PlayStation Move control, Gamesyndrome reported.

Resistance was created by Insomniac Games. It is known for its deep and engaging story in the game.

The Resistance Collection costs $39.99, and will include a bunch of DLC from both Resistance 2 and Resistance 3. It will also have all the three main games.

Following are the DLC in the collection:

* Resistance 2 Aftermath Multiplayer Map Pack

* Resistance 2 Skin Bundle

* Resistance 2 Wraith Skin multiplayer weapon

* Resistance 3 Brutality Pack

* Resistance 3 Survival Pack

"The series is so loved amongst the PS3 fan base because of its well developed, story driven plots, fast paced action and unique, alternate history setting," Newsforshoppers reported.

"Despite the Resistance series' strong reviews however, the games never really received as much mainstream attention as other FPS games like Halo, Call of Duty or Battlefield."
