Square Enix is apparently abuzz with cross-marketing lately.
Seemingly trying to remind gamers that the company made a game called Deus Ex: The Human Revolution once upon a time, Square Enix is offering up DLC so players can dress up the barcoded Agent 47 in some Adam Jensen styled duds.
The Revolution outfit sees 47 trading up his own standard suit in Jensen's trademark black armor complete with mechanical shades. Though it makes 47 look like a raccoon more than anything, the outfit promises to offer "better protection from firearms with advance armor." Though if you're a true silent assassin, you needn't ever worry aobut gunfire. The DLC offers up a futuristic gun to boot.
In addition, players can also dress up in a 'High Roller' suit with a Krugermeier 2-2 Pistol, or the 'Public Enemy' suit with a Bronson M1928 SMG.
Another Square character recently received a Deus Ex makeover (as well as a few other Square characters, including 47) as well, Wei Shen of Sleeping Dogs.
All of the outfits will be available now, including Adam Jensen's armor and pistol, as DLC on Xbox 360 and Steam, and later today on PS3, following the PSN update.
Whether players want to use any of the DLC weapons, 47's trademark silverballers and fiber wire, or even something as simple as a coffee mug, Absolution offers a myriad of ways for players to take out their targets in a living, breathing world. The mind boggling array of weaponry will no doubt come in handy against 47's newest opponent, Blake Dexter, whom IO calls calculating, ruthless, and maybe the most vicious adversary Agent 47 has faced yet.
Absolution also features new game play mechanics like "instinct mode" which will allow 47 to predict enemy patrol routes, much like the 'sonar vision' that was featured in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction and "detective mode" in Batman: Arkham Asylum.
And when you're done with the story, gamers are still left with the game's new CONTRACTS" mode. As IO puts it, "CONTRACTS is a new online mode which allows gamers to create and share their own custom hit challenges within Hitman: Absolution. Choose a level, targets, weapons and then set the rules for completing your contract as you play to create. Hitman: Absolution will also ship with many pre-set CONTRACTS, each designed by the very best assassins at IO Interactive."
Players who successfully comple contracts will be rewarded in contract dollars. The amount earned depends on player performance. In order to create more elaborate and creative setups, the player can choose from a vast arsenal of weapons, disguises, upgrades, and techniques; all of which can be unlocked by either playing through Absolution's story mode, or by spending those hard-earned contract dollars.
Hitman: Absolution is out now for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Check out the launch trailer here!
