In less than a month, "Empire" Season 3 is set to be back on the small screen. Fans should be prepared for the return of the Lyon family and the things they have to face this time as Lucious wants to get back to his family. There are also additional characters coming in the musical drama with an unexpected guest star.
Additional Characters Coming In 'Empire' Season 3
According to iTech Post, Tariq (Morocco Omari), Lucious' (Terrence Howard) half-brother and mortal enemy, will be coming in "Empire" Season 3. Shyne Johnson (Xzibit), Lucious and Cookie's (Taraji P. Henson) old pal, will also be seen in the new installment. A 16-year-old rapper but quite nerd named Zeah will be, too, joining the TV series, although the star that will play the role is not yet disclosed.
Aside from that, Mariah Carey will also be seen in "Empire" Season 3 as the guest star. The 46-year-old diva will play the role of Kitty, the long lost friend of Cookie. The hitmaker, too, is going to help Jamal (Jussie Smollett) to handle and solve his personal problems.
Lyon Family Will Face Different Challenges
Meanwhile, Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson revealed "Empire" Season 3's spoilers and storyline. Once again, the Lyon family will face different challenges that involve every member of the kin. Lucious' mother Leah Walker (Leslie Uggams) is said to be bringing another dispute in the family as seen by the behind-the-scene clip by Variety.
"She's very dangerous because she could ultimately be a threat to his life," Terrence Howard said. Additionally, the show's co-executive producer Malcolm Spellman also hinted that Lucious is eyeing to get back to his family and reclaim his power over them. "From what they've established thus far, there's a lot of heartbreak to come," the 47-year-old actor-singer teased. "Empire" Season 3 will return on Sept. 21 on Fox.
