While some may think it's a little early for the next Call of Duty title, what with Black Ops 2 releasing just last week, but said some aren't in the business of making games.
From a recent posting at Gamasutra, Sledgehammer games is setting to work on the next Call of Duty title, and they're looking for help. Specifically, the job is for a Senior Environment Artist, The company is "actively recruiting top talent for our Call of Duty development team. If you are passionate and driven to do your best work, and have a desire to work on the most successful FPS franchise in the history of video games, please apply online."
While they ad doesn't say exactly what the next Call of Duty title candidates and Sledgehammer will be working on, it's likely that it will be Modern Warfare 4. Sledgehammer had last worked on Modern Warfare 3, which debuted in 2011. The idea of a fourth Warfare title has been supported by rumors that Activision has already begun voice work on the title, and a flashback scene featuring John "Soap" MacTavish in Somalia is planned.
The voice work rumor led some to speculate that Price might return as a possible protagonist, but unlikely, given that Price's voice actor recently denied rumors he was working on a fourth Modern Warfare game.
Sledgehammer expects the applicant will be able to "create single player and multi-player levels under the direction of the art director and the creative director," and "Will insure that the level works on all relevant platforms, Xbox 360, PS3."
The most recent Call of Duty title, Black Ops 2, has sold millions of copies, generated sales of (likely over at this point) $500 Million, is Amazon's most pre-ordered game in company history, and more recently hit the tops sales spot in the UK,
