The delayed "Avatar 2" has become a controversial matter for the fans of the first title. Years have passed that nothing was heard of regarding the movie, but new information may slowly be crawling forward for the sequel.
James Cameron's alleged postponing of "Avatar 2" rendered awaiting fans depressed and somewhat hopeless of the sequel ever coming into fruition. Now, actor and cast of the first film Stephen Lang divulged what could become of the franchise in the coming year and even beyond.
According to Dark Horizons, Stephen Lang admitted that "Avatar 2" will start production by 2017, and is aiming at a 2018 release date. As for his participation in the film, Lang said that the plan was for his character, Colonel Miles Quatrich, is to return for the second movie.
This has come as a surprise to many fans, since Quatrich can be recalled on taking two arrows straight to the chest in the first title. "Avatar 2" will once again hoist the villain up the spotlight, with Lang saying that his character will be definitely return regardless of the plot that could befall it.
One more interesting note about "Avatar 2" is the report that the second movie will not be the last one in the franchise. It is said that after "Avatar 2" comes around December 2018, "Avatar 3" will respectively follow on 2020, "Avatar 4" on 2022 and "Avatar 5" by 2023; however, all of these need clarification for the time being.
As per Parent Herald, Lang can be excused on being busy with the blockbuster thriller hit "Don't Breathe." The delay of "Avatar 2" was explained simply by the actor as a difficult journey, taking quit a period to get all the continuities down.
