It has been three years since "Dexter" ended in 2013 and fans are still hoping that a spinoff is about to come. Fortunately, fans now have a chance again to watch the critically-acclaimed TV series as it celebrates its 10th anniversary.
The Return Of 'Dexter' On TV
Showtime recently revealed a teaser of the upcoming "Dexter" TV marathon. This is in celebration of the show's first decade, airing in its first season in 2006 and lasted with a total of eight seasons until 2013. According to Digital Trends, the commemoration is given with an exceptionally made trailer that shows the most important sequences of the crime drama.
Along with that, the specially prepared video of "Dexter" also revealed the key characters led by Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) and the major disorders of the show. Not only that, Showtime, too, wants the fans to participate in the celebration by voting their favorite episode of "Dexter" from Season 1 to Season 8. The network will collect the top 10 most-liked episodes and then it will run the TV marathon.
Michael C. Hall Not Interested In A Spinoff?
To recall, "Dexter" tackled the story of Dexter Morgan, who worked as "a blood splatter" expert in the morning and a complete vigilante serial killer at night. It became a big hit and has been nominated for more than 20 Emmy awards since it aired for eight years. Fans have loved it so much; they were instantly looking for a spinoff or even "Dexter" Season 9 as soon as it ended.
However, Michael C. Hall himself explained he believed eight seasons of "Dexter" is enough to tell its full story that ended at the right time. The 45-year-old actor added that a spinoff is most likely not to happen and he is not even interested in joining, as per Inquisitr. "[A spinoff is] not something I can really consider. I'm not saying it's an impossibility that someone else might come up with it," he said.
"Dexter" TV marathon will start on Oct. 1 on Showtime. "Dexter" Season 1 to Season 8 can also be watched through Showtime Anytime streaming service as well as Netflix.
