Michael Schumacher continues to battle for a normal life following that unfortunately ski accident a couple of years ago. Health updates on Michael Schumacher's actual condition continue to be scarce with the family wanting to keep everything under wraps. Sabin Kehm, the designated spokesperson continues to carry out those wishes, urging most to respect the family’s wishes.
Some notable personalities have come forth to shed some update on the fallen racing legend. One included Luca di Montezemolo who said that there is no (significant) update on Michael Schumacher, CNN reported.
Hence, the best folks can do right now is reminisce and recall the key moments of Michael Schumacher’s career. Most have been on his success story though a Frenchman’s tale seems pretty notable to the F1 legend.
Schumacher's Big Break
Bertrand Gachot narrated an interesting story that happened 25 years ago via BBC. The Frenchman bared how an unfortunate incident allowed Schumi to rise to fame.
Gachot got into an altercation with a London taxi driver and the whole thing got kind of messy with claims that he used CS gas to try and defend himself. CS gas was illegal at that time and Gachot ended up serving time for the incident.
Gachot allegedly sprayed the CS gas to the driver’s face and such merited a fine and six months in prison. It was a sorry episode for the Jordan driver who had just the fastest lap in the Hungarian Grand Prix.
He had to sit out about two months to serve his sentence but Eddie Jordan needed a driver. Schumacher was eventually that guy. Schumacher apparently started to make an impression which included securing seventh on the grid in Japan.
From there, Schumacher drew enough attention from other groups and went on to join Benetton. And his rise continued from there that made him into the racing legend he is today. It may be insignificant to some though a story like that should be something even Gachot can be proud of.
