DLC Characters Announced for PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale

As promised, DLC characters for the mega fighter PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale have been announced.

The first of hopefully many more characters to be announced for the fighter are at from Gravity Rush and Emmett Graves from Starhawk. With the introduction of these new characters, they also bring their specialties from each of their game worlds.

Emmett has "Build-in-Battle", which calls in help from the sky. As for, Kat she will be controlling gravity to give herself the best position to finish the battle. We don't know yet what these abilities will look like in game, but Kat's ability should be pretty wild.

The best part of the addition of this new characters by far is the price. Mostly because there is none. For the first two weeks of the game's release, both Emmett and Kat will be free to download. But after that period is up, expect the price to go up too. PlayStation has said that it will remind people as time gets closer to the release date of the characters. The PlayStation blog promises to have "more information about these characters and more DLC news coming soon."

Counting these DLC characters (and the recently revealed boss) brings the character roster to 23. The complete list of playable characters can be seen here.

Players take their pick from the numerous All-Stars in "smashing" their Sony "brothers" in a "brawling" "melee" free for all. Characters as well known as Heihachi from Tekken and Raiden from Metal Gear join older PlayStation characters like Sir Daniel from MediEvil and PaRappa of PaRappa the Rapper. In addition to offering a tournament mode, special event battles, and custom matches, there will also be a story mode featuring a God only knows what kind of twisted storyline bringing a crew like this all together.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is out for PlayStation 3 in just a few more days, Nov. 20.
