"The Strain" Season 3 is set to launch on FX soon. The premiere episode trailer teased that New York City will be a battleground in a vicious war between humans and strigoi.
ScreenCrush reported that according to the full "The Strain" Season 3 premiere trailer synopsis, New York City will be the setting of a grand battle in the beginning. The residents of the Big Apple have been abandoned by the federal government and left to fend for themselves. They have to battle for survival against the vampires.
They are winning battles but find it very difficult to win the war. The main characters also have to deal with personal issues like paranoia, betrayal and disappointment.
The group is splitting up with all the emotional and physical troubles that they are going through. In the meantime, the Master is almost near his ultimate goal of permanently transforming the whole world. The heroes of "The Strain" Season 3 have to do all it takes, while battling their own demons, to save New York City and the human race.
IGN revealed that in "The Strain" Season 3, Eph (Corey Stoll) will want to get Zach (Max Charles) back. Fet (Kevin Durand) will be on a mission. The Lumen will still be an important aspect in "The Strain" third season as Setrakian (David Bradley) and Quinlan (Rupert Penry-Jones) use it to attempt to stop The Master.
However, they may decide to photocopy the Lumen instead as the battle intensifies. More about Quinlan will be unveiled in "The Strain" Season 3 through a particular flashback, among others.
Justine Feraldo (Samantha Mathis) will return full-time in "The Strain" Season 3 after news surfaced that the character will be a series regular. She will rise to prominence in New York City. She will attain a position of power with the potential of being corrupted. She was previously successful in fighting the strigoi, but will encounter more challenges in the future.
"The Strain" Season 3 will still feature romance, with two unexpected characters entering into a relationship. There will be a new opening sequence, with co-creator Guillermo del Toro, director Cuse and the director of photography working to provide a very dark and graphic start to "The Strain" third season. "The Strain" Season 3 will premiere on Aug. 28, 2016 on FX.
