This is a great week for gamers who love nothing more than looking down the barrel of their favorite semi-automatic, but if shooters like Halo 4 and Black Ops 2 don't tickle your fancy, there are alternatives.
The demo for the re-booted hack n' slasher DmC: Devil May Cry is well on its way, and should be available for download on your Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3's next week, Nov. 20 in both Europe and the States. PC players as of yet aren't so lucky, as Capcom hasn't mentioned a demo for PC.
The demo gives gamers a nice taste of what's to come, offering two missions including a boss battle. After one completion it unlocks the special 'Son of Sparda' difficulty, which plays around with enemies' placements and behavior, making them tougher to beat. All in all, not bad for a demo. Hopefully it can keep fans satisfied until the game's release.
The game is set in a parallel universe from the original Devil May Cry series. Set in Limbo City, a younger, non-silver haired Dante comes across "The Order," is a shadowy organization led by Dante's brother Vergil that has been fighting against Limbo's demons. During the events of the game, Dante learns of his true heritage, that of half-angel and half-demon, and is frequently taunted and stalked by the demon Mundus, the antagonisnt of the first Devil May Cry title.
Capcom recently announced DLC for the new Devil May Cry, titled Vergil's Downfall, which returns Dante's brother Vergil to the story. According to a press release from Capcom, "Vergil's Downfall offers fans the opportunity to play as one of the most wanted Devil May Cry characters, Vergil, in an all new storyline with fresh gameplay including new weapons, combos, enemies, and locations."
DmC: Devil May Cry is set to arrive on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Jan. 15, in North America and Europe, followed by a PC release shortly thereafter.
