Now that Nina Dobrev is set to return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, fans are now looking forward to seeing their favorite Elena and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) back together. The 27-year-old star's return made noise and it looks like the supernatural drama's final installment will end with a bang.
Nina Dobrev's Return
According to iTech Post, Nina Dobrev's comeback in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 has been teased for a long awhile before it is finally confirmed. In fact, the show's executive producer Julie Plec often said that the Bulgarian-Canadian model expressed her interest in reprising her role. The CW President Mark Pedowitz even revealed at the 2016 TCA Summer Press Tour that he, too, wants the actress back to the show.
"We collectively came to the same place. We backed Julie [Plec] in her decision...there are discussions going on with Nina, we'd love to have her back," Mark Pedowitz said. As per E! News, "I always like to have Nina. Who doesn't like to have Nina on the show? She was a great person to have," he added. He even said that Nina Dobrev is a noble spokesperson for The CW and "The Vampire Diaries" itself.
'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Production Now Includes Nina Dobrev
Meanwhile, fans now have the reason to celebrate as Nina Dobrev is already confirmed to come back in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. In the "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage" star's IMDb page, it is already noted that she's part of the TV series' production for 2017. The former girlfriend of Ian Somerhalder, who is the protagonist and a fellow "TVD" star, will be seen in the not-yet-titled eighth episode.
However, as many celebrate with Nina Dobrev's return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, it seems Ian Somerhalder is not happy with the news. Inquisitr cited that, allegedly, the 37-year-old actor is not fascinated with the idea of working with his ex-girlfriend again. He is even questioning the producers on their eagerness to add her to the final season. Anyhow, "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 is set to air on Oct. 21 on The CW.
