The world is home to crazy jobs that seem to be good to be true. For Ivy Lim, a Singaporean, being paid to play “Pokemon Go” may sound uncanny but actually true.
Lim was chosen from among thousands to be a “Pokemon Master” which was advertised by Funzing.com. Not only will she get to ramp up her Pokedex, she will even be paid a cool $1,000 while she is at it for the next three months.
The Job Description
Lim will be tasked to do the same thing that other “Pokemon Go” addicts do – train others, teach and render tips, host lure parties, walk and level up – a dream job that any avid gamer would die for. She is currently at Trainer Level 23 and reveals she has caught about 121 Pokemon critters. Once on the job, her immediate goal is to double those numbers.
But what is the rationale behind the initiative of Funzing.com? Based on their interview with Mirror Online, the whole thing popped up when users started asking them about “Pokemon Go” experiences. Somehow, Funzing.com ended up coming with an ingenious ploy to find the best Pokemon hunter in the world which includes training and helping others play the game better.
How to sign up with Ivy Lim
With Lim officially now the “Pokemon Master”, the folks over in Singapore can head on over to Funzing.com and book a spot. Interested players local and ones visiting will need to register and shell out $6 in packages that the company claims will include ‘excitement and thrills’.
Lim hopes to get the chance to share her expertise beyond Singapore in places like London. That plan is still up in the air and could depend on how everything irons out on her locality.
“Pokemon Go” continues to captivate millions though the augmented reality game may have already reached its peak. This comes from reports that the game has now seen a steady decline in daily players as well as a sharp drop in user engagement, Bloomberg reported.
