Halo 4 fans get your assault rifles ready, because on Monday 343 Industries will be launching Spartan Ops: Episode Two. In order to get fans ready for the new episodic content 343 Industries has released the "Halo 4 Spartan Ops: Episode Two trailer."
The second episode will take place after the main story of Halo 4 and will be available Nov. 12 at 3 a.m. PT. The episode will feature an all-new CG cinematic and five new gameplay missions.
Here is episode two's official synopsis from Microsoft's press release as reported by Joystiq:
"The mysterious artifact recovered from Requiem takes control of vital systems on board the UNSC Infinity, forcing the Spartans of Crimson and Majestic back down to the planet to look for a way to free the ship."
Spartan Ops is a new story-driven, episodic co-op mode that features many things that are found in the most game's story mode including an immersive narrative and cinematics. But the mode cane be played online with other gamers.
The story is told through a weekly series of cinematic episodes and tells the story of the UNSC Infinity as they explore the planet Requiem, a mysterious Forerunner world. According to Microsoft, Spartan Ops is "a massive adventure that builds off the "Halo 4" story, access to Spartan Ops is included with Halo 4 at no additional charge - effectively delivering two campaign experiences in one game."
If you haven't had a chance to play through the first episode of Spartan Ops, you should grab a friend and blast away through some Covenant and Promethean forces. The five missions won't take you too long with each individual mission having 4-5 objectives that can be completed in 10-15 minutes.
The objectives are usually pretty simple like get to the navigation point press a button or clear the area of enemy forces. The mode shines because of its simplicity and the quick action. It is way to get your Halo 4 fix without committing to a mission in the main campaign or a long session of war games.
Halo 4 is now available worldwide as of Nov. 6 for the Xbox 360.
