Sony is expected to unveil the PS4 Neo but a new leak could hint at seeing something other than that 4K-ready game console – the PS4 Slim.
The PS4 Slim was spotted at an auction site (Gumtree) and was eventually awarded to a certain NeoGAF. Images of the alleged device would soon make its way online with most skeptical and believing it was nothing more than a fake.
But as mentioned by Engadget, it looks like this device is pretty much real and functional. The purported PS4 Slim is basic and smaller model which could stand out as the cheaper model at $350. The belief is that the PS4 Slim will be the standard model which Sony may be offering to narrow the (pricing) gap with Microsoft and its Xbox One S.
Videos of the PS4 Slim unboxing were previously available but are no longer available to avoid legal issues. It was initially believe that the renders and claims were nothing more than hoaxes, with reference to the advanced solution of possibly using 3D printers to throw people off.
But based on testimonies, the PS4 Slim is one and real and has now gained steam of possibly appearing this Sept. 7 in New York. Some are under the impression that the PS4 Slim debuting alongside the PS4 Neo would be controversial. But the thing here is that the former is a standard model – meaning it is technically a solution for the ones who are not too convinced with the main draw or lack the money to invest.
Anyhow, the New York event is nearing so all these debates on seeing the PS4 Slim may or may not happen. A slimmer PS game console would be ideal for most being portable and a space saver though it will eventually the features and specs that many will want to know.
