Sony announced a new upgrade to the Playstation 4 called the Playstation 4 Neo, and while there is no information about the new console leaked yet, we may have found a lead. A listing at an auction site has turned up images of what looks like a slimmer PS4 that's straight out of the box.
Polygon found this listing of a new PS4 (or rather, the seller decided to send them photos), and what's strange about it is that the housing does really look slimmer from a regular PS4. There are also some differing elements of its design, such as rounded edges (as opposed to straight edges in the original design), and the removal of the PS4's optical port. You can see more photos of the PS4 if you click on the link. (At this time, however, the listing seems to have been removed.)
This PS4 version apparently has a hard drive with a 500 GB capacity. As mentioned earlier, Sony hasn't yet revealed any information about the upcoming PS4 Neo, so it's tough to tell whether this listing is actually the new model, or just a made-over version of the regular PS4. It's quite possible that it could be a slimmer version of the regular model, considering that competitor Microsoft put out a slimmer version of the Xbox One this month, ahead of the Xbox One Scorpio that's coming out later this year.
To put all the speculation to rest, however, Sony will finally be revealing the PS4 Neo in a big event at New York's Times Square on September 7. We'll find out then what the deal is with this PS4 upgrade, and we'll definitely let you know more information as we get it. The PS4 is likely to be released sometime in the middle of next year.
