At this rate, it’s rather clear that Connor Kenway movesets as an assassin are completely different than those of past assassins Ezio and Altair. While Ezio and Altair were consummate masters of swordplay and the occasional spinning backhand, Connor is far more aggressive, particularly while unarmed. With MMA popularity at towering heights, it's no wonder that it's crossing over into the video game world. Apart from the UFC's own line of videogames, MMA fighters have been bringing their in-ring talent and knowledge to the medium for some time now. UFC Welterweight champion George St. Pierre offered up his signature flying punch to Sleeping Dogs, for example.
Beyond professional fighters, Ubisoft brought in a whole slew of experts in everything from war history and weapons, to language and beyond, to make Assassin's Creed 3 the blockbuster it is today. Which seems to have worked quite well, selling 3.5 million copies in the first week alone. With DLC packages on the way, and possibilities of Connor starring in a trilogy all his own, there's no doubt that the Creed franchise is far from finished.
Assassin's Creed III is out now for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
