The internet has gone bazooka because of a "Star Wars: Rogue One" remix trailer by Beastie Boys. Reports claim that the American rap-rock band from New York City is a more seamless fit into the Star Wars universe than that of Star Trek's.
The "Star Wars: Rogue One" remix in question has apparently put a fresh spin on the classic film series, especially in terms of visual effects and tone. Jyn Erso's secret mission against the Empire gets all the more thrilling with "Sabotage" in the background, reports Entertainment Weekly.
YouTuber and video editor Matthew Longua made the remix by splicing bits of "Star Wars: Rogue One" trailer with "Star Wars" Celebration behind-the-scenes reel and the joining the Beastie Boys "Sabotage" track.
"Star Wars: Rogue One" fans were left surprised by how good the remix turned out to be. Some even like it more than the film's original orchestral score of John Williams. The music score made Jyn Erso's (Felicity Jones) character more alive and influential. "It's befitting of our 'reckless, aggressive, and undisciplined' hero Jyn Erso," writes io9.
When Erso delivers the now-famous dialogue, "I Rebel," both the tempo and scenes turn more explosive, chaotic and aggressive with perfect precision, writes Parent Herald. The "Star Wars: Rogue One" trailer re-establishes the fact that right music is crucial to movies. Similarly, when composer Alexandre Desplat's orchestration was swapped for a song that featured in "Star Trek Beyond," the result was a summer blockbuster "Guardians of the Galaxy."
"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" has been directed by Gareth Edwards and centers on Jyn as she is recruited by the Rebel forces to steal plans for the Death Star. She will be joined in her mission by James Earl as Darth Vader, Forest Whittaker, Riz Ahmed, Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen and Alan Tudyk.
"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will hit the big screen on Dec. 16. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for the latest news and updates about "Star Wars: Rogue One"!
