This year's E3 showcased the highly anticipated "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," which arrives next year. Nintendo's upcoming game also earned the Game Critics’ Best Game award during this year's E3, and most recently reaped the honors for the Best of Gamescom 2016 and Best Console Game for Wii U.
Gamerant reports that Nintendo has invested a lot of its time and efforts into showcasing "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" during this year's E3, and for good reason. Some critics believe the game would bring back Nintendo to the forefront of the gaming industry, and the game's pure brilliance alone is enough to keep gamers interested despite its yet-undisclosed release date in 2017. Series producer Eiji Aonuma reassured fans that regardless if they play the game on Wii U or NX, it would deliver the same amazing gaming experience.
Last week, Entertainment Weekly reported that the upcoming game will feature Koroks, "helpful forest spirits" who are slated to play an important role in the game. This is the second time gamers would encounter Koroks, as they have already appeared in the 2003 "Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker." There, Koroks assisted Link in his journey by giving him specific items he needs.
According to VG247, another new teaser for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" features Link using the Woodcutter's axe to cut down a tree to create a bridge. Meanwhile, another clip also features Link learning to use the Magnesis Rune for his Sheikah Slate in what they call the Shrine OMan Au in the Great Plateau. This rune will enable him to move aside metallic objects to help him on his journey.
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is directed by Hidemaro Fujibayashi and developed and produced by Nintendo. The game is set for a 2017 release.
