"Kingdom Hearts 3" is one of the most anticipated adventure games this year. It was reported that the third installment will be the best game among the KH series and fans are so curious to know how it will be different from the previous versions.
Game director Tetsuya Nomura revealed that the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be "overwhelmingly big" as it will present a massive story. However, although it was not confirmed yet, this installment was said to be the last of the series in the KH franchise.
In his interview with the Japanese magazine Famitsu, Kingdom Hearts Insider quoted Nomura as saying, "It's not that I've spread the story out, perhaps it's more that I've separated the parts that would have ruined KH3's tempo if they were told then. In fact, it is overwhelmingly big."
The game director added that "Kingdom Heart 3" has a short intro and the game will start right away. As the intro would be brief, Nomura hopes that even first time players would be able to follow along and begin the game without problems.
Moreover, he advised players to play "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" as this would serve as preparation while they are still waiting for KH3 to be released. He further explained that doing this will make it easier for gamers to grasp the flow of the story.
In addition, Tai Yasue, co-director of "Kingdom Hearts," confirmed that KH 2.8 will serve as the elaborate introduction for the third installment. He added that they will release this sequel in December, just in time prior to the release of KH3 in 2017, Christian Post reported.
As for the rumors that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is going to be the final chapter of the series, this remained as a hearsay since there is still no announcement official from Square Enix. Most probably, some people made this assumption after learning how vast the KH3 would be.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is coming to Xbox One and PS4 in 2017.
