When the featured characters of a video game are a two dimensional rapping dog, a dead medieval knight, burglaring raccoon (among others), you'd likely figure that a live action would obviously come across as...well...odd. And you'd be right. See for yourself below.
Seen in the commercial are only a select few of the game's roster (the complete list of playable characters can be seen here), but you can only fit so many people in an elevator. And by the looks of fat princess, that thing may be at it's breaking point.
Players take their pick from the numerous All-Stars in "smashing" their Sony "brothers" in a "brawling" "melee" free for all. In addition to offering a tournament mode, special event battles, and custom matches, there will also be a story mode featuring a God only knows what kind of twisted storyline bringing a crew like this all together.
Little is known about said story mode, save that your choice character would inevitably come face to face with his/her/it's rival at some point.
A total of twenty characters have been revealed so far, but with some Sony favorites seemingly left out (Kingdom Hearts characters, Crash, Spyro, etc.), many are betting they'll either be revealed in the coming days, or will make some kind of appearance as secret/unlockable characters, or as DLC.
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is out for PS3 Nov. 20.
