Halo 4 Release Date in 3 Days: Looking Back At The 5 Best Halo Trailers

The Master Chief is about to rises out of the frosted cryo-stasis tomb and battle a newly discovered evil. He is encased in pearlescent green battle armor with a golden-mirrored visor and he has his assault rifle loaded and ready. Gamers' anticipation is at an all time high for the new game.

Halo 4 is the start of a new trilogy, of Halo games, named the "Reclaimer Trilogy," and the first to be developed by 343 Industries. So with the game's release date only three days away, we figured it would be a great time to take a look at some of the best trailers in the series. Check out the top five trailers after the jump.

Halo 4 will release worldwide on Nov. 6 with the exclusion of Japan where the game will be released on Nov. 8. Remember to check back next week for our review of Master Chief's newest adventure.

Here are the five best trailers of the Halo series:

5. Halo 2's official trailer: Halo: Combat Evolved may have launched the franchise, but Halo 2 solidified Master Chief as Microsoft's official mascot and a gaming icon. Check out the trailer that had fans drooling in anticipation.

4. Halo 3 ODST's trailer: The Master Chief was gone as far as we gamers knew, but then came the opportunity to play a Halo game as an ordinary soldier. While Halo 3 ODST is not the best received in the franchise it is one of the most compelling from a narrative standpoint. This trailer captured the themes of the game perfectly.

3. Halo Wars Trailer: One Spartan II soldier is awesome, multiple Spartans is mind-blowing. This is definitely case where the trailer was better than the actual game.

2. Halo 3's museum trailer: Just Artistically one of the best video game trailer's of all time and one of my all-time favorites.

1. Halo 4's 'Scanned' trailer: How do you top the museum trailer? You make something that give depth to the series' protagonist Master Chief. The trailer goes where no Halo game has really gone in depth, the creation of the Spartans.
