American game developer Turbine announced Thursday that The Lord of the Rings Online is now available on Mac.
This free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) was previously available only for PC users.
Mac users can be a part of The Lord of the Rings Online through the beta version that is currently out. Players just have to sign-up. The process is simple, as users have to create an account and test the game out. The game is designed exclusively for OS X, Joystiq reported.
"We are really excited to open up the world of Middle-earth to Mac," said Kate Paiz, executive producer of The Lord of the Rings Online. "We've just launched our biggest expansion yet and we're happy to welcome gamers to play the game natively on Mac OS X for the first time ever."
The Lord of the Rings Online is an award-winning game. It features familiar people, places and monsters from J.R.R. Tolkien's classic fantasy work, "The Lord of the Rings". The game has come with numerous expansions and DLCs.
"The Lord of the Rings Online allows players to play as a hero from one of the classic races (Men, Elves, Dwarves, or Hobbits), and then allows them to level up their character while journeying across a land that is rife with memorable scenes from the books and movies," Capsulecomputers reported.

The game has an endless number of Skirmishes. It includes the Player vs. Monster Player mode. It has more than 3,000 heroic quests, with 85 levels and more.

The game is presently available to Mac OS X users in Europe and North America.
