Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation Release Date: Three Cool Features In AC III Liberation

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation is the first portable entry on Sony's portable game system Vita. The story features plot centered on assassin Aveline and her journey through the streets of New Orleans, the swamps of the bayou, and other locations including New York. The game is set between 1765 and 1780 around the end of the French and Indian war.

The game is being lost in the shuffle as its much more acclaimed counterpart is releasing on the same day for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. But we have listed here five cool features found in the portable Assassin's Creed game.

3. Touch Screen Combat: Assassin's Creed III: Liberation allows gamers to string together kills by utilizing a mechanic that freezes time. The cinematic style kill-spree take out up to four enemies at a time.

According to the game's official site, "Designed exclusively for the PlayStation Vita system, you'll take full advantage of the PlayStation Vita system's dual touchpads, motion detection, and built-in camera to execute slow-motion chain kills, pickpocket unsuspecting victims, and pursue your enemies in a canoe. This is no mere port; it's an immersive experience designed purely for the PlayStation Vita system."

2. Meeting Connor: Assassin's Creed III: Liberation will have a connection to Assassin's Creed III on home consoles. Connor and Aveline will meet at some point in the portable game. The details on this meeting of assassins are pretty hush, but we know from the trailers it is going to happen

The official PlayStation Blog says, "If you own both ACIII and ACIII Liberation, you're in for even more bonus content in the form of bonus Cross Content! For going all-in on ACIII and ACIII Liberation, you'll instantly earn an exclusive ACIII wallpaper for your PS3!"

Here is a list of the bonuses:

Aveline can use Connor's trademark Tomahawk

Special multiplayer character to give you an edge on PS Vita

Instant upgrade to Aveline's ammunition pouches

An entire mission playable as Connor!

1. Personas: Assassin's Creed III: Liberation's protagonist has a unique ability that makes her stand out amongst previous assassins. She has the ability to blend into the crowd in three ways. She is an assassin with the weapons and abilities to kill her targets. She is also the daughter of a wealthy businessman and can use her "Lady Persona" to charm her way past soldiers and other issues. In this persona she loses her agility due to her dress, but she can gain access to things in a less hostile way than an assassin. Her third persona ties into her mixed ethnicity as she adopts the persona of slave and moves among the crowd unnoticed. She can also create small rebellions in this persona.

In an interview with WorthPlaying, Assassin's Creed III: Liberation scriptwriter Jill Murray says that Aveline is not just a female version of a previous assassin in the series and that the team wanted her to be her own character.

"I think this is a very character-driven game, so tthere's never a question of trying to force Aveline to fit into any particular mold," Murray told Worth Playing. "I think there was a strong vision of who she was from the beginning and how she manages her world and how she slips in between different strata of society and sort of uses the world around her to her advantage. I think the whole team was always interested in Aveline as her own person."

Murray also talks about the persona system and how her environment shapes Aveline.

"Additionally, there's the persona system, which allows her to change between a lady persona, the assassin persona we all know and love, and the slave persona," Murray told Worth Playing. "In each persona, she has different ways of getting the job done, whether it be charming and bribing guards as a lady or blending with workers as a slave. As far as her personality is concerned, she's very driven, she's very much guided by her own moral core. She can sometimes make decisions quite spontaneously, sometimes in opposition to direct orders. All these things combine to make her very interesting to watch and to play."
