'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Fans, 'Be Careful What You Wish For'

With the return of "The Walking Dead" season 7 currently in production in time for their October return, fans have returned to speculating who indeed was in the receiving end of Negan's blow during last season's finale. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who joined the show to play the famous bat-wielding villain, Negan, has been thoroughly enjoying portraying the character, but warns fans not to get too caught up in the cliffhanger, lest they get too emotional with the outcome.

Comic Book reports that Morgan was on hand during the Supernatural Minneapolis 2016 convention, during which the 50-year old actor fielded questions on who Negan's victim was during the finale. He said that those who were upset about the cliffhanger brought about last season's finale would probably wish that it wouldn't be resolved come the first episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7.

"Be careful what you wish for," Morgan told the audiences ominously. At least we know one thing for sure now: the cliffhanger will be resolved within the first episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7. Speaking of fans, Andrew Lincoln recently shared his thoughts with Entertainment Weekly regarding the reaction of viewers to the season finale, and Negan supposedly killing off one of his teammates on the show.

Lincoln said that he recognizes the fact that the show, and ultimately, the comic books that the show was based on, has a "very vocal, a very opinionated, fervent fanbase," and it would be very difficult to please everyone. However, he did admit that while they do honor the world created by Robert Kirkman, the show is, in a way, deviating and doing something different.

The 42-year old "The Walking Dead" season 7 actor also admitted that he is often accosted in public to reveal who Negan's victim was. Lincoln shared that the divided reaction between fans only goes to show how there is a real "symbiotic relationship with the show and the fanbase."

"The Walking Dead" season 7 returns to AMC on October 23 at 9 p.m.
