One of the best things about "Jessica Jones" Season 1 was the terrifying but strangely likable villain Kilgrave aka The Purple Man. Unfortunately, David Tennant's character was effectively killed off in the Season 1 finale, which makes it unlikely for him to return in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. So who will terrorize Krysten Ritter's alcohol-loving superhero?
David Tennant's performance as the Marvel comic book villain was a truly inspired piece of work. He was so good that fans hope that Kilgrave would be resurrected in "Jessica Jones" Season 2, even just for a small cameo. However, it looks like Krysten Ritter will be facing someone completely different when the series returns to Netflix.
'Jessica Jones' Season 2 Villain: Who Could Top David Tennant's Kilgrave?
It's hard to imagine who could possibly be a better villain than The Purple Man. However, "Jessica Jones" Season 2 will need an effective baddie who could terrorize Krysten Ritter's reluctant heroine. In this case, executive producer Melissa Rosenberg admitted that it will take several antagonists to top Kilgrave.
"No one is ever going to beat David Tennant as Kilgrave, so you don't do that," Rosenberg told Entertainment Weekly. The EP stated that "Jessica Jones" Season 2 will not attempt to "repeat" what happened in the first season.
"You just go, 'OK, we're not doing that, so we have this open to us,'" Rosenberg concluded. However, she did not announce which Marvel villains will go up against Krysten Ritter in "Jessica Jones" Season 2.
There are several speculations about the main villain(s) in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. However, Melissa Rosenberg has yet to announce which Marvel baddies will appear in the new season.
The "Jessica Jones" Season 2 release date has not yet been announced. However, the series is expected to return to Netflix sometime in late 2017 or early 2018.
