‘No Man’s Sky’ Latest News, Release Date & Update: PC Version Out, Hiccups Being Addressed

Hello Games has finally released the PC version of “No Man’s Sky” three days as promised after the PS4 version release. For those who want go get hold of a copy, it is available via Steam.

PC owners will need about 10 GB of hard disk space to get “No Man’s Sky” for the PC though GameSpot reveals that it only eats up about 2.5 GB. Aside from the storage requirement, there are of course other things to consider before installing “No Man’s Sky” and start your space exploration. The most notable is the graphic requirements plus the minimum specs that games normally require these days.

The minimum requirements

For the benefit of those who haven’t heard, “No Man’s Sky” for the PC will require at least an Intel Core i3 processor, 8 GB of RAM, an Nvidia GTX 480/AMD Radeon 7870 GPU and a machine that runs on Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 64-bit versions. It would be best to take note of these specifications since Steam doesn’t list them down.

Upgrade or buy a new PC?

For some, upgrading some parts of your PC would be neat though the best solution is to buy an entirely new set. Cost is a point to consider but depending on how long your PC has been around, think of it as something due.

Of the requirements listed, the GPU requirement hardly comes as a surprise. For a game that invests heavily on high resolution graphics with plenty of space to cover, the load is expected to be a heavy one as it will likely eat up your computer’s resources.

Kirk Hamilton of Kotaku used a PC with pretty high specs but still had a rough time playing the game. The specs he ran it on included an Intel i7 clocked at 4.2Ghz and a GTX 1080 GPU with a 1440p. He shared instances of hitching with those specs, though there are still some hiccups being addressed as expected by Hello Games.
