Bioware released concept art for the upcoming Dragon Age III: Inquisition, showcasing some of the game's environments including a castle, several cliffs and the inside of a castle that has become overtaken by vines.

According to a report on Shacknews, the game developer also revealed the first details for the new RPG during a panel at the Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo. Dragon Age 3 will be the largest game in the series and will return to the level of customization found in the original game and even surpass in many ways. The game will even let players customize their in-game followers.

The panel also mentioned that the writer of the first two games David Gaider will return. Gaider told attendees that players will be human and player backgrounds will have a significant story impact. The game's cinematic designer John Perry told expo attendees pre-production for Dragon Age III is taking longer than any previous Bioware game and that one level of the game will exceeds the size of all of Dragon Age II's stages, according to the article by Shacknews.

Dragon Age III: Inquisition was announced in September and will use DICE's Frostbite 2 engine. Dragon Age Executive producer Mark Darrah wrote in a blog entry, "We are working on a new engine which we believe will allow us to deliver a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices, and more customization. At PAX East, we talked about armor and followers. Yeah, that kind of customization. We've started with Frostbite 2 from DICE as a foundation to accomplish this."

The game's designer are also aware of the fan criticism that Dragon Age 2 received and are trying to right the ship with the newest edition. Darrah told an attendee of the PAX East 2012 Panel, "Watch what we are doing. Our policy is going to be to show you as we go. So I think it is wait and see, pay attention to what we are showing you and hopefully we can convince you that we are being more open and responsive to your feedback. "

Dragon Age III: Inquisition will release at some point in 2013. It is speculated that the game may release on the rumored PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720.
