Darksiders II New DLC Expansion Teased With New Image of Death

A green mist flickered and danced around the ancient structure. From a distance came a humanoid creature. Its skin was the purple-gray hue of a midnight sky. Death can never sleep peacefully.

The official Darksiders Twitter account recently tweeted a new image of Death-the main protagonist of Darksiders 2. The tweet said, "A new adventure awaits Death!" This new image is likely from one of the game's planned and upcoming DLC expansion packs.

THQ had previously announced two planned DLC packs called The Abyssal Forge and The Demon Lord Belial. But the tweet did not make clear which new DLC pack the image comes from. But previous listings of the two new DLCs have listed The Abyssal Forge first and will likely be released first, according to an article on Game Informer.com.

The first DLC for the game was Argul's Tomb, an entire new dungeon in the game. The Argul's Tomb expansion was released for $6.99 or free for gamers that purchased the Darksiders II Limited Edition. The expansion included two new dungeons and a shooter-like level. It also featured new weapons, items and new boss battles.

Argul's Tomb featured an icy environment, while the new image suggest that the newer DLC will have some jungle like foliage and presumably take place in the castle like structure seen in the background of the new image.

Darksiders II is an action-adventure and action role-playing video game that was developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ. The game was released in August for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, and will be released on Nov. 18 for the Wii U's launch day.
