Black Ops 2 Release date: The Recently Announced Free Elite Services Will Not Be Available For The Wii U

The Call of Duty: Black Ops II Elite service will not be available for gamers who purchase the new shooter on the Nintendo Wii U, according to an article that appeared on Kotaku.

"We are currently evaluating options for Call of Duty Elite to support Nintendo's Wii U game system, however Call of Duty Elite for Call of Duty: Black Ops II will not support this platform when the game launches on November 13," an Activision representative told Kotaku.

There have not been many details revealed regarding the Nintendo Wii U's online capabilities. The system is only a month away and this latest news should have gamers somewhat curious to see how Nintendo will be upgrading its online experience to compete with PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.

Even game developers appear to be unsure of the new systems online plans. In a recent interview with Destructoid, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Director Katsuhiro Harada said his company is "Not quite sure at this point. I don't fully understand it. We're still working with Nintendo to find out about their network."

Earlier this week, Activision announced that the Call of Duty Elite Services would be free. Additionally, they announced that players would have the choice of purchasing DLC as individual pieces or through a Black Ops 2 Season pass.

The game's DLC will cost $14.99 each on PlayStation Network and 1200 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live. The season pass will cost $ 49.99 or 4000 Microsoft points.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II developed by Treyarch will release on Nov. 13, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows and on Nov. 18 for the upcoming Wii U.
