NBA Rumors, News & Updates: Dennis Rodman Tells Derek Fisher Shun Comeback Plans [VIDEO]

Former NBA coach and player Derek Fisher sent feelers previously of a possible NBA return, a lot of which was covered in a previous post on Game & Guide. The 41-year-old veteran showed off a video which carried a hashtag ‘#Imnotdoneye’, enough to lead many on that he was serious about playing active ball. At his age, reactions were mixed.

Derek Fisher opted to pursue a career in coaching in 2014. His performance didn’t pan out well and the veteran guard ended up jobless. If not the NBA, Fisher could hook up with some team in China, ESPN reported.

If Fisher is successful, he would be the second NBA player and Los Angeles Laker to do so. Magic Johnson did the trick back in 1995-96 after coaching the Lakers in the 1993-94 season.

Dennis Rodman’s harsh advice

While it remains to be seen if any NBA or overseas basketball team would seriously give Fisher a contract, another former pro cager believes that Fisher should just give up and focus on being a family guy, TMZ reported. "Derek Fisher, just give it up man ... just do your job and be a family guy."

As far as Rodman is concerned, Fisher is considering a return because he is ‘desperate for the limelight’. Known as one of the original ‘Bad Boys’ in the NBA, Rodman has never been shy to express himself in public even while he was actively playing in the league.

Should Fisher heed Rodman’s advice?

Derek Fisher has yet to react on Dennis Rodman’s dish. Right now, no team has come close to expressing interest on the soon-to-be 42-year-old guard. While he spent a great deal of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers, he last played for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Considering he will be up against other younger free agents, it may be tough task ahead for Fisher to get even a minimum deal. Maybe leaving the doors open to a possible coaching stint could be more feasible?
