Melissa Rosenberg Talks About 'Jessica Jones' Season 2

"Jessica Jones" Season 1 is based on Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos' iconic comic book character. In fact, Melissa Rosenberg hinted that they will continue to draw "Jessica Jones" Season 2 from the Marvel Comics. "But it doesn't sound like Season 2 is looking to retread much familiar territory, especially with whatever the new season's threat ends up being," she told IGN at Marvel TV press mixer at the 2016 summer TV Critics' Association press tour.

"David Tennant's [Kilgrave], we'll never create that again. That is one of the great iconic characters played by a profoundly talented actor. The objective is not to match that, not to try to do that again," Melissa Rosenberg added. Aside from that, "Jessica Jones" Season 2 will focus more on the story of its supporting characters. It will include new roles that are related to the regular casts. She also hinted that fans will see the interesting features of these new additions, their origins and much more.

Mike Colter's 'Luke Cage' Will Have Its Own Web TV Drama

Meanwhile, after Luke Cage is introduced in "Jessica Jones" Season 1, he now has his own Netflix series. The new web TV drama also happens in the same world like "Jessica Jones" and "Daredevil" and connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, London Evening Standard reported.

"Luke Cage" Season 1 will tell the story of its title character, who will still be played by Mike Colter. The 39-year-old actor revealed that his character obtained its power after he was put inside a tank and can be compared to an exotic fish. It, too, will have the same theme like "Daredevil" that will center in fighting crimes and gangsters. "Luke Cage" Season 1 is set to start on Sept. 30 while "Jessica Jones" might be released in 2018 the latest both on Netflix.
