Mass Effect 3 Omega DLC Release Date Announced

BioWare announced tat the New York Comic-Con that the upcoming Mass Effect 3 single-player Omega DLC will release on Nov. 27 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, according to a report by Eurogamer.

The new DLC will $14.99 on PC and the PlayStation 3 and 1200 Microsoft Points on the Xbox Live. According to Bioware the new DLC is one of the largest downloadable content files released for the game ever. It is also the most expensive single-player content released in the franchise's history. Mass Effect PlayStation 3Fans in Europe will have to wait one extra day as the DLC will release on Nov. 28.

Executive producer Casey Hudson revelead the content back in September and said, "We are releasing more multiplayer content and we have more single-player stories coming throughout the next six months, including Omega which is coming in the Fall. But the Mass Effect universe is vast, and Casey and our teams have plans for another full game. 'Where to go next?' with such a project has been a question a lot of us have been asking, and we'd all love to hear your ideas."

The Mass Effect 3: Invasion prequel comics covered how Aria T'loak lost the criminal-controlled space station. The new DLC's plot will centers on Aria's mission to retake the space station from the Illusive man and his Cerberus forces.  According the report we will also get to see the first female Turian in the history of the franchise.

This is the third single-player DLC for the game. The first two were From Ashes and Leviathan. From Ashes returned player to Eden Prime where the battle against Cerberus ground troops; after discovering a Prothean stasis pod. The main draw of this DLC was finding the new squad member Javik, a Prothean soldier.

Leviathan was released in August and added important information to the lore of the Mass Effect universe. The DLC played similar to Mass Effect 2's Shadow Broker DLC.
