New Screenshot for Rambo: The Videogame

Reef Entertainment's "Wolf Den" has released another screenshot for their new Rambo videogame, which you can check out below.

Ignoring the most recent film, Rambo: The Videogame is set over the "classic" trilogy. An errorneous e-mail from Reef Entertainment did provide a a little clue for a possible setting that movie buffs may recognize.

"To go along with our new content, we thought we could just remind you of what John Rambo had to deal with in Rambo III...

Robert Griggs: 'Except for one region. 50 miles over the border. Apparently the soviet commander there is exceptally brutal as those photo's indicate. And he's managed to strangle off all aid from the outside, so we want to investigate the problem first hand.' "

Ignoring the misspelling, there's one small error that does have me a bit concerned as an 80's action movie fan. This is a quote from "Rambo: First Blood Part II," where Rambo is released from prison after his little mix-up with lawman Brian Dennehy in "First Blood," so he can resuce POWs in Vietnam. "Rambo III" sees Rambo crossing into Soviet occupied Afghanistan to resuce his CO Colonel Truatman.

Anywho, much like GTA V, there's still little to go on for Rambo: The Videogame, save for a few screenshots, and a trailer made up of old "Rambo" movie clips (seen at the bottom of this article).

Given Rambo's history as an "expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke," obviously there will be some violent aspects. If the movies are anything to go on, you can expect some Metal Gear style gameplay, including some trap setting for those pesky Hope, Washington police, torture resistance, hand to hand combat, guerilla tactics, and of course, exploding arrows. Basically, you can expect it to be completely different from Rambo games of years past.
