Soon enough, we'll have more to go on than a selection of screenshots and release date rumors.
According to a tweet from Game Informer's editor in chief Andy McNamara, Grand Theft Auto V is set to appear on the cover of the December issue of Game Informer. McNamara tweeted:
"In NYC, about to check out December's cover game #GTAVpic.twitter.com/001Miuec"
McNamara will be one of the first members of the public to actually play a version of the highly anticipated game, and will deliver his impressions in the December issue.
Nothing is guaranteed, but this does increase the likelihood of us seeing, or at least getting a better idea, of a release date. According to Kotaku, "Game Informer typically reveals its covers (along with details on the game it is showing off) during the first week of the month before the one on the issue. So we should hear more about Grand Theft Auto V in early November."
Rockstar has yet to announce a release date for GTA 5, and has been rather secretive on details in general, offering up only screenshots, a single trailer, and a basic summation of the story. Set in the Los Angeles-inspired city of Los Santos, last seen in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, players will take on the role of a reformed criminal who finds himself forced back into the game.
We'll all see in late November if Game Informer can squeeze any other details out of Rockstar.
