'Cyberpunk 2077' Release Date, News & Update: 5 Things Gamers Are Excited About On This New Sci-Fi RPG

CD Projekt Red is currently hiring to develop the upcoming sci-fi RPG "Cyberpunk 2077." Gamers are already excited about the details of the new game, with the makers describing it as a "true RPG." Here are some details about "Cyberpunk 2077."

1. "Cyberpunk 2007" will showcase an amazing storyline

CD Projekt Red did a great job with the plot of its other popular title "The Witcher," which increased the expectations of "Cyberpunk 2077" fans. GameSpot wrote that the game will allegedly be set in a dark future in the year 2077 where state-of-the-art technologies deliver both good and evil to the human race. Adam Badowski of CD Projekt Red previously stated that "Cyberpunk 2077" will be bigger and more revolutionary than "The Witcher" series.

2. A true RPG

Mobilenapps noted Marcin Iwinski, co-founder and CEO of CD Projekt Red, in saying that "Cyberpunk 2077" will a true RPG, and not a shooter title. Although not a lot of details about the gameplay and mechanics has been revealed yet, the game was said to include multiplayer elements. Badowski mentioned that it will be a story-based RPG experience with great single-player playthroughs with multiplayer features. The development team is also reportedly trying new gameplay elements for "Cyberpunk 2077."

3. A dynamic environment

Eurogamer cited Badowski in saying that "Cyberpunk 2077" will be an open-world game, similar to "The Witcher 3." The city will be its first and most important element, but there are more to see in other environments in the game. They plan to begin in the Night City and have players move out from there.

4. Different character classes

"Cyberpunk 2077" will reportedly feature different character classes and will not focus on a single pre-defined hero like Geralt in "The Witcher 3." Players can expect to have more freedom in exploring the open-world environment and multiplayer mode.

5. The team behind "Cyberpunk 2077"

CD Projekt Red wanted to acquire more talented individuals for their growing development team in creating the RPG, which explains the early announcement of the game. Badowski expects the "Cyberpunk 2077" team to be about as big as "The Witcher 3" team, but no more than 200 people. They already have prototypes and several more ideas to work with.

"Cyberpunk 2077" will be available on PC and next-generation consoles. The release date has yet to be announced.
