An exact sales figure has not been known to public yet, but in the latest earnings report this week released by the game developer Bandai Namco, they stated that "Dark Souls 3" is having a good benefit regarding their "favourable sales". And this only leads to the company's boost in its earnings projections.
In an article by GameSpot, Bandai Namco released a statement that shows the sales for home video game in the Network Entertainment Business. Europe and North America were all favorable for the latest title "Dark Souls 3," for the repeat titles and by other company-owned titles which contributed to the company's sales network.
The "Dark Souls 3" was released last March and the game developer Bandai Namco announced to the public that the game "Dark Souls 3" had already shipped 3 million copies last May. But it is not yet confirmed if this figure stands until today.
Bandai Namco was also reported that it is increasing its earnings guidance as a result of the performance of their latest game "Dark Souls 3." They also saw their profit and revenue increased for the quarter ended on June 30.
Possible Demon's Souls Remaster
After the success of "Dark Souls 3," the president and director of "Dark Souls 3" Hidetaka Miyazaki shared that there are still no plans for a any sequels or spin-offs for the game "Dark Souls" as well as for Bloodborne as of now, according to an interview by GameSpot.
He also explained further about the remake or remaster of the game Demon's Soul that seems to have some misunderstanding in a previous interview. He pointed out that the "Dark Souls" series is with Bandai Namco while the Demon's Souls and Bloodborne is with Sony Interactive Entertainment. Meaning, the decision of doing a remake or remaster of Demon's Soul is in Sony Interactive Entertainments' hand.
"For me and for From Software, I don't think we'll be involved with their happening, but it could happen through another developer," he added.
