Rayman Legends On Nintendo's Wii U Has Been Delayed Till 2013

Rayman Legends the Wii U sequel to Rayman Origins, has been delayed till the first quarter of 2013, according to an article on Gamespot.

According to the a statement from the game's publisher Ubisoft, the delay will give the development team a longer development cycle to work on the game.

"We're happy that fans are excited about the game," Ubisoft said in a statement to GameSpot. "We are taking the time to make sure we deliver a game that lives up to and hopefully exceeds their expectations."

Rayman Legends takes full advantage of the Wii U and its new tablet controller and allows gamers to keep playing the game even when their television is off. The game can be played on the smaller screen of the Wii U's new wireless controller.

The game will also feature five-player co-op gameplay with 4 Wii Remotes and the new Wii U controller. According to the game's site, "at any time if someone wants to leave or join in, the game will continue without interruption."

According to the report the development team said that they will "have more details to share soon."Rayman Legends was scheduled to release alongside the launch of the Wii U on Nov 18 and in Europe and Australia on Nov. 30 and in Japan on Dec. 8.

Ubisoft has only confirmed the game's release on the Wii U, but Ubisoft senior game manager Michael Micholic stated back in June that the company is considering bring the game to other platforms and he said in an interview with Joystiq,"we're looking at a lot of different launch options."
