Gaige the Mechromancer's Second Echo Log Reminds Borderlands 2 Players that DLC is on the Way

I'm sure that many of you out there playing Borderlands 2 have already reached the level 50 cap for your first character, maybe even your second, and as a result, Pandora seems a wee bit stale. Worry not, as Gaige the Mechromancer will soon be upon us. Gearbox let loose another of her echo logs (think Pandoran podcasting) detailing her work so far on her Deathtrap. Check it out below!

Obviously, the DT project is the Deathtrap, something that Gearbox's president Randy Pitchford described as claptraps big angry cousin, calling it a, "gigantic evil robot that'll just beat the living shit out of the enemies."

A lot still isn't known about Gaige, but her inclusion would make her the youngest vault hunter on Pandora.

Pitchford was recently part of a live Q&A session with fans over at Kotaku, and let slip a few points of interest for what we can expect from Borderlands 2 in the future, apart from Gaige.

The majority of fans' questions were on DLC. While according to Pitchford, "It's just a little bit early for me to announce anything specific yet," he did say the following:

"We have some plans and some hopes and dreams...The stuff we're planning and working on for the Campaign DLC Season Pass is big DLC stuff - more like Knoxx. We're extremely far along with the first campaign DLC. The second DLC is also in amazing shape. The third DLC is a little farther out and the fourth DLC is just in the pre-concept stages. We will have other, non-season pass related DLC. The additional character (Mechromancer) is one kind of example. The Borderlands 2 team is fired up at the moment. Customer love for the game is driving us wild - making us want to do more and more stuff. So, expect that there will be even more beyond the big Campaign DLC in the Season pass and the add'l character. We'll announce more stuff as soon as we are able to be confident in the commitment of the details we share...Things like new weapons and enemies will come in campaign DLCs and other DLCs."

Lengthier DLC expansions ARE expected in the future. As for adding more character classes beyond the Mechromancer - "We created the ability in Borderlands 2 to add additional characters because we want to use that ability. The Mechromancer is the first one. I hope to do more. The success of the Mechromancer will help to define this. Our ambition and passion and our fans requests will also contribute to decision making about what we do."

Apparently we can also expect additional bosses for future DLC. Pitchford said, "We've got some plans. We'll be sharing some plans about that pretty soon. We've got a lot of awesome people working on post-launch content and we'll talk about it soon. Please give us a moment :) Because we've also got a lot of awesome people holding down the grid through the launch."

When asked about the possibility of Borderlands 2 coming to the PS Vita, Pitchford said "there's a real possibility. For fun, look at twitter interactions between @DuvalMagic@amboyes and @yosp." In addition to coming to the Vita, Pitchford said that a Mac port is also planned.

"Borderlands 2 DLC is being designed with much more understanding about what Borderlands is and what we all want from it and it's being built with a lot more expertise and experience. I feel a lot of confidence in announcing the four new, big, campaign DLC's for Borderlands 2."

And as soon as it's announced, you can read all about it here. The first Borderlands 2 DLC character, Gaige the mechromancer, is available October 16.
