NBA 2K13 Team Preview: Andrew Bynum And The New Look Philadelphia 76ers Look To Do Big Things In The East

Last season's Doug Collins coached 76ers were hard playing and gritty team but lack size in the paint. Philadelphia retooled their team with the offseason additions of 7-footer Andrew Bynum and 6-foot-11 Kwame Brown.

The Sixers will have Bynum and 7-foot-1 Spencer Hawes at center and power forward with either 6-foot-7 Evan Turner or 6-foot-9 Dorell Wright at small forward. No matter who Collins decides to start at that position, the team has size and talent at forward.

Andre Iguodala was the face of the franchise but is not gone as part of the Bynum deal. Jrue Holiday and Bynum should become the stars and eventually leaders of the team. Having the second best center in the NBA should give the Sixers something few teams in the East have, a great big-man.

Last year the team played great defense but had trouble scoring so to improve scoring they added Jason Richardson, Nick Young, Dorrell Wright and twenty-seventh overall draft pick Arnett Moultrie.

One of the keys to the season for the Sixers is the further development of its young players Holiday and Turner. If they can take the next step together this team could go deep. The other thing they need is for Bynum to become "The Guy." If Bynum can develop into his own man, no one will be able to deal with his natural abilities.

According to NBA 2K13, the Sixers will improve during the regular season and have four players scoring in double digits per game. But the Philadelphia will not advance past the first round this season as the upstart Brooklyn Nets send them to an early playoff exit.

Here is how the game simulates the 76ers' season:
