"Pokemon Sun & Moon" has 14 new Pokemon, as well as several new features and human characters. The Nintendo 3DS games features many original Pokemon from "Pokemon Red," "Blue," and "Yellow," although some have special Alola forms that result to significant changes.
"Pokemon Sun & Moon" is set in the islands of Alola, which is quite similar to Hawaii. Several foreign and common Pokemon thrive in the area, although "Pokemon Sun & Moon" players may now get the chance to catch any or all of the 14 new characters.
GameSpot revealed that "Pokemon Sun & Moon" features the Alolan Exeggutor, a grass/dragon-type Pokemon that stands 35 feet tall and a unique appearance. The Alolan Exeggutor has four heads, with the fourth located on its tail. The Alolan Vulpix is now an ice-type creature and needs the Snow Cloak ability to stay cool.
The Alolan Ninetales is currently an ice/fairy-type Pokemon that can attack enemies using ice crystals. The Alolan Sandshrew is now an ice/steel creature with the Snow Cloak ability, but lost its capacity to curl into a ball. The Alola Sandslash is an ice/steel-type Pokemon in "Pokemon Sun & Moon" with ice-covered spikes. It is heavier and slower but showcases beautiful attacks.
Polygon wrote that "Pokemon Sun & Moon" will feature some of the 14 new creatures in altered forms, depending on which among the four Alolan islands they live on. The Oricorio (Sensu Style) is a bird-like Dancing Pokemon that can transform after drinking certain types of flowers. The Oricorio (Pa'u Style) is a psychic/flying-type Pokemon. The Oricorio (Baile Style) is a fire/flying-type creature that can also be a great offensive character when dancing. The Oricorio (Pom-Pom Style) is said to be the best among the four variations in "Pokemon Sun & Moon." It is an electic/flying-type Pokemon with powerful feathers.
In "Pokemon Sun & Moon," Mudbray is a small powerful Pokemon that can evolve into Mudsdale. Other new creatures in "Pokemon Sun & Moon" include Minior, a rock/flying-type, the Stakeout Pokemon, Gumshoos, the energy-storing Fomantis, which evolves into Lurantis, which has a special Solar Blade move. "Pokemon Sun & Moon" will be released on Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 18, 2016.
